Common Core and High School Math

July 21, 2013 - 7:23am -- Edith H.

Although I am not new to teaching math at the high school level, the Common Core is still very new to me, especially since I do not teach in a f2f classroom.  I have also been teaching a course that will have to be reorganized to fit into high school standards.  Many of the standards I was teaching fit the middle school/junior high levels.  There are not many examples in the quizzes to help assess the difficulty of questions.  So, I have done some research.  Here are a few of the resources that you may find helpful.  I have.

I graduated from college to teach math and Spanish six years ago and have finally received my first teaching contract.  In the time since I graduated I have taught English, Spanish and worked as a cook so I am feeling a little under prepared for teaching math, especially with all of the curriculum changes.  Thanks for the links and the ideas of ways to incorporate the Common Core Standards in my class.
